About the Project
Half Moon Village Phase 2, a 115-unit housing community in Half Moon Bay, received a GreenPoint Rating of N/A with guidance from Bright Green Strategies.
Half Moon Village Phase 2 provides 115 affordable senior housing units to the city of Half Moon Bay. Affordable housing is critical in the area with San Mateo County being one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.
The project team’s focus on sustainability scored well on the GreenPoint Rated checklist earning a total of 180 points. Energy efficiency was key as above code walls, windows, mechanical and domestic hot water equipment pushed the building to nearly 50% above the 2008 energy code.
Inside the homes, focus was given to using non-toxic products for healthy indoor living as well as water saving fixtures. Outside, a drought tolerant landscape and community garden provide an enjoyable landscape to walk.
